Terms of Service

1. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your password and one-time codes private, and are responsible for activity on your account. You may hold a client account, a freelancer account, or both under separate usernames.

We may suspend accounts used for fraud, harassment, infringement or attempts to move payments off the platform.

2. Tokens and gig requests

Clients buy tokens at ₹5 each. Sending a gig request to a freelancer uses 1 token. The freelancer accepts or declines each request; if they decline it (or the request fails to send), the token is returned automatically. Otherwise tokens are not refundable once used.

Only one open gig can exist between the same client and freelancer at a time.

3. Offers and contracts

Once the freelancer accepts a request, the final price and its milestones are agreed through offers inside the gig. Milestones must add up exactly to the agreed price. An offer becomes a binding milestone contract when the other party accepts it.

Either party may cancel a gig before a price is agreed, and may close a contract between milestones (when no paid milestone is still open).

4. Payments and fees

Contracts are paid one milestone at a time, before work on that milestone starts. The client pays the milestone amount plus a 6.5% platform fee and 18% GST on that fee.

When the client approves a milestone, the freelancer receives the milestone amount minus a 6.5% platform commission. Payouts are made to the payout details the freelancer has added.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. BrandStar does not store card details.

5. Revisions

Each gig includes 2 free revisions in total. Each time a client sends submitted work back for changes, one revision is used. Further revisions cost ₹100 each and must be bought before requesting changes.

6. Reviews

When a contract ends, the client and the freelancer each review the other once. Reviews appear on profiles and must be honest and about the work and collaboration; we may remove reviews that are abusive, fake or unrelated.

7. Content and intellectual property

Freelancers must only upload work they have the right to show. Unless the parties agree otherwise in the gig, ownership of the final deliverables transfers to the client once the milestone that contains them has been approved and paid.

8. Prohibited conduct

Do not take payments outside BrandStar for work found here, share contact details to avoid fees, upload malware, impersonate others, or post unlawful content.

9. Liability

BrandStar provides the marketplace and payment flow; the creative work is provided by freelancers. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the fees we received for the transaction concerned.

10. Closing your account

You can close your account from Settings once you have no open gigs, unfinished contracts or payouts owed to you. Records of payments, contracts and reviews are kept as required for accounting and to protect the other party.
